7 Day Detox Meal Plan

Goal

This detox meal plan is good for you if you’re trying to:

  1. Reduce inflammation
  2. Boost metabolism
  3. Improve insulin sensitivity
  4. Rediscover your hunger and satiety cues
  5. Weight loss

Meal Plan

                              

 

 

 

 

 

Day 1

Meal 1

1 cup Black tea with 1 tablespoon honey (optional), Fist size boiled maize/ corn, 1/4 cup nuts of choice

Snack 1

1 and a half cup fruit salad with 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Snack 2

Green tea as desired (no sugar or honey), 1/4 cup nuts of choice

Meal 2

1 and a half cup Sauteed spinach, 1 cup bean stew

Day 2

Meal 1

Snack 1

Fruit infused water

Snack 2

1 cup diced watermelon

Meal 2

Green peas stew

Day 3

Meal 1

1 and a half cup mango slices with 1 teaspoon flax seeds

Snack 2

Hibiscus tea as desired (no sugar or honey)

1 and a half cup Githeri (corn and beans stew) with 1 cup steamed cabbage

 

Day 4

Meal 1

1 medium banana with 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

Snack 2

Fruit infused water

Meal 2

Half cup ugali, 1 cup sauteed kales, 125 ml buttermilk (mala)

Snack 1

1 and a half cup fruit salad with 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Snack 2

Green tea as desired (no sugar or honey)

Meal 2

Half cup matoke, half cup sauteed liver, 1 cup sauteed spinach

Day 6

Meal 1

Smoothie 1 small avocado, 2 bananas, 1 teaspoon chia seeds, 1 spinach leaf, water as desired

Snack 1

1/4 cup nuts of choice

Snack 2

Green tea

Meal 2

1 and a half cup Lentil stew, half cup vegetable salad

Day 7

Meal 1

1 cup Black tea with 1 tablespoon honey (optional), Fist size boiled maize/ corn, 1/4 cup nuts of choice

Snack 1

Hibiscus tea

Snack 2

Fruit infused water, 1/4 cup nuts of choice

Meal 2

1 and a half cup Githeri (corn and beans stew) with 1 cup steamed cabbage

 

Notes

1 cup is equal to 250 grams

Flax seeds and chia seeds are interchangeable. Alternatively, you can use sunflower seeds, black seeds and watermelon seeds instead.
